Fallout 76: Treasure Map Locations

Fallout 76: Treasure Map Locations

Fallout 76 has something for treasure hunters looking to make their fortunes in the Wasteland. Scattered all around Appalachia are treasure maps, which can lead to some valuable items like weapons, armor, and, most importantly, plans. Plans are the only means of obtaining some top-tier gear in the Wasteland. Other weapons and armor also have mods that can elevate their performance, granting them extra bonuses that can make them highly effective in combat and utility. These plans are rare and expensive, and in some cases, both at the same time, so let us guide you as we talk about how you can get these plans for yourself and get the best gear in the game.

How to Obtain a Treasure Map

Along the way, you may encounter Legendary enemies or boss enemies scattered around Appalachia. Killing these enemies has a chance to drop a treasure map, which is labeled with the name of the region and a number. Boss enemies are marked by a crown next to their name when aimed at, and they can usually be found within certain public events or in set open-world locations.

Should you know the location of a treasure mound, take note that you can only claim its rewards if you have the appropriate map for that specific mound. If you have multiples of the same map, you can claim the treasure as many times as you have the amount of that specific map.

The Forest Treasure Locations

  • The Forest Map #1: Head towards Point Pleasant (west of Vault 76, where the Mothman Museum is). The bridge on the treasure map is not the big bridge that spans the river but a smaller one further south, which leads over a smaller river that flows into the big one. When you have found the bridge, jump down south of it and look to the norththere you will see a mound containing the treasure.
  • The Forest Map #2: The spot is north of the Poseidon Energy Plant near Camp Adams. Once at the tower, keep southwest until you reach a small campsite. The mound is just underneath the cooking station.
  • The Forest Map #3: Start at the Relay Tower HG-B7-09. From there, keep to the north, go over the hill, and have a good view of the power plant. Go downwards and look for a playground. You can find the treasure there under the monkey bars.
  • The Forest Map #4: The spot can be found near Anchor Farm northwest of Vault 76. Follow the road towards the Ferris wheel. After the two sharp turns, look around, and you will see the farm in the form of a yellow house. Walk around it and in the garden at the back, you will find a blue and yellow-colored plane. The mound with the treasure can be found on the plane's left side.
  • The Forest Map #5: The treasure can be found at the Charleston Trainyard, near the border of The Forest and Ash Heap. Enter the Trainyard from the west. Near the river, you will find a tilted railroad car. In front of his door is the pile of earth with the treasure.
  • The Forest Map #6: Start at the Overseer’s Camp. Look for the river, where you will see a roofed bridge. Cross the bridge, and once you’re on the other side, turn around and look at the electric power pole. Go past the left side of the pole and cross the river. You will find the dirt mound on the other side of the riverbank.
  • The Forest Map #7: The treasure is found in Widow’s Perch in the south. You should see a massive billboard nearby. You can find the mound on the immediate right side of the billboard if you’re looking at the back of the billboard.
  • The Forest Map #8: You will find this treasure southeast of Vault 76, near a railway line that crosses over the river on the world map. This bridge can be seen on the treasure map. If you stand on the bridge and look to the southeast, that will be the same viewpoint as shown on the treasure map. The dirt mound can be found on the south side of the river.
  • The Forest Map #9: This treasure is found south of the town of Summersville. Once you fast-travel there, keep going south until you find an orange bus and a welcome sign for Summersville. Face the sign, then head to the house. The mound is located brightly next to the broken grid under the porch of the house.
  • The Forest Map #10: This treasure can be found near Gregg’s Mine Supply, southeast of Vault 76. If you enter the city from the south, stop and turn right towards the river. Stand over the place where the river goes underground and look into the distance. You'll see the mound with treasure on a ledge.

The Savage Divide Treasure Locations

  • Savage Divide Map #1: First, head to Dent & Sons Construction in the very south of the area and then head northeast. You will then pass a place marked with “spikes” on the map. Near an overturned “Caution” sign, you will find the mound with the treasure.
  • Savage Divide Map #2: Go near the New Appalachian Central Trainyard, east of the large lake in The Forest. Go to the train station and then walk along the railway tracks to the north.
  • Savage Divide Map #3: Head to Top of the World and follow the cable car down. At the point where a path crosses the cable car (there is also a signpost), jump over the fence and go down the slope. There’s a crashed cable car, in front of where you can find the treasure, just near the cable car support pillar.
  • Savage Divide Map #4: Head to Solomon’s Pond. There, a wooden bridge leads over a small lake. Cross the bridge, turn around (so you look in the direction of the house), jump down to the left of the bridge, and walk a few steps forward to find the mound.
  • Savage Divide Map #5: This treasure can be found on a cliff face overlooking Blackwater Mine, east of the large lake in The Forest and the Whitespring Resort. Look for the giant billboard and start climbing up the cliffs until you’re close to the billboard. The mound is located in a patch of dirt right in front of the billboard.
  • Savage Divide Map #6: The treasure can be found near the Palace of the Winding Path location. Head north of the palace until you reach a steep, rocky hill.
  • Savage Divide Map #7: This treasure can be found in the mountains south of Savage Divide, east of the Spruce Knob Campground. The pile of earth is on a triangular rocky outcrop, from which one can see the two metal monorail supports on the treasure map.
  • Savage Divide Map #8: The treasure is located at a rest stop on the road south of the ATLAS Observatory, between the road and the railroad tracks. Look for a rusted motorcycle that is leaning against a beam. The mound is right next to one of the beams past the motorcycle.
  • Savage Divide Map #9: Head to the Autumn Acre Cabin southeast of the ATLAS Observatory. Go south of the cabin and go through the small forest. Run through it, and you come to a rocky slope. If you look down, look for a path of dirt directly beneath the slope. The mound is surrounded by wild carrot flowers, which have white-yellowish petals.
  • Savage Divide Map #10: The treasure is found east of the Bailey Family Cabin, near a small lake with two rusted cars overlooking the lake. The mound can be found in the dirt area in front of the truck at the edge of the rocky outcrop.

Ash Heap Treasure Locations

  • Ash Heap Map #1: Go to the AMS Testing Site in the south of Ash Heap. From there, head north, using the big red crane as your orientation. Look for a large tunnel entrance that is closed with a grid. On the slope to the left, you will find the mound with the treasure.
  • Ash Heap Map #2: Head to Hornwright air purifier site #01 and go east from there. You should stumble upon a few cabins with some rusty jeeps surrounding a pond. Go to the northern cabin with a jeep next to it. The mound is located a few paces next to the jeep.

Toxic Valley Treasure Location

  • Toxic Valley Map #1: Start on Becker Farm and head west of the farm. You will find a ruined red wooden wall, where the mound will be nearby.
  • Toxic Valley Map #2: Go to Clarksburg and locate a water tower. Go west of the tower towards a hill overlooking the water tower. The mound should be near a couple of dead trees.
  • Toxic Valley Map #3: The treasure is near the Pioneer Scout Camp, beyond the small pier southwest of the camp. The mound should be on a small island with a wrecked boat.
  • Toxic Valley Map #4: The treasure is south of The Crater, on a cliff. Simply go behind the “ROCK” stage and keep going until you reach the top of the cliff.

The Mire Treasure Locations

  • The Mire Map #1: The treasure is located in an unmarked clifftop vista cabin east of Hopewell Cave. On the world map, it is in between the hills that border the Toxic Valley and The Mire. It is at the edge of the cliffs overlooking the Mire.
  • The Mire Map #2: The mound can be found at the southern end of the only railroad in The Mire. Follow the tracks until you see an overturned train near a tunnel entrance. The mound is on the right side of the train, near the mouth of the tunnel.
  • The Mire Map #3: Start at Harper’s Ferry and begin following the Route 65 road northwards. Keep going until you see a yellow truck and two large holes in the road. Do not go beyond those two landmarks. The mound is located on the western side of the road, past the rails.
  • The Mire Map #4: Start at Crevasse Dam and head west to the bridge nearby. The mound is under the bridge, on the riverbank.
  • The Mire Map #5: This is one of the most challenging treasure map locations due to the unclear location of the mound. Start at the Excelsior Model Home and head east. To begin your search, make sure the area you’re in is the forest, facing the sky bridge and Thunder Mountain Power Plant. Use the map illustration as a reference to align your view of the bridge with the map. The mound is hidden near some grass, so turn on your headlamp or Pip-Boy light and search the area.

Cranberry Bog treasure locations

  • Cranberry Bog Map #1: The treasure is in a creek/ditch east of the crossroads near Appalachian Antiques. Look for the remains of a horse trailer with Giddyup Buttercup toys inside, where the road crosses a ditch. Once you're on the bridge, jump down into the creek underneath it.
  • Cranberry Bog Map #2: Start by going near the east of the Ranger Lookout. Look for a small bridge by the east. The mound should be right underneath that bridge.
  • Cranberry Bog Map #3: First, head to Overgrown Sundew Grove and go southwest of the location. Look for a singular dead tree near a small pond. The mound is right next to that dead tree.
  • Cranberry Bog Map #4: Go to Pylon V-13. Go north of the location and head to the second monorail pylon. The mound is by the southern side of the aforementioned pylon.
