How Players Buy POE Maps

While the most common way of getting maps would be through the Atlas itself, it’s also possible to do a POE map trade in exchange for items, or look for other players who have POE maps to buy.

As an alternative to aiming for the Awakener every time, some players buy the best maps to farm, so they buy ones such as the beach map and other similar maps.

The price of the maps depends on the demand for them. While sellers in an online player-to-player marketplace are able to set their prices however they want, their actual value is dependent on their worth in Exalted Orbs. How to Get POE Maps

Maps are part of Path of Exile’s endgame, so players have no way of obtaining them until they finish Act 10. After that, you will receive from Officer Kirac a series of quests that will give you a map device in your hideout, as well as a Tier 1 magic map by Kirac. After finishing the map, the game will officially introduce you to the Atlas of Worlds, Path of Exile’s main and overarching endgame.

The Atlas of Worlds is the system in which endgame maps are connected and give players a certain direction. Basically, in the Atlas, you will be killing enemies, which will in turn drop maps, and from there you’ll be going from one map to another until you encounter the four Conquerors. After beating them, you will finally face off with the Awakener. Getting to POE T16 Maps

This, however, is not easier said than done, as the maps dropped in the areas under the Atlas of Worlds follow a certain rule, and they don’t always bring you closer to the bosses. This is because the endgame is designed to have players seeking maps with more and more powerful enemies, and the maps that players get don’t always lead to that.

Thankfully, the mechanics also serve as a guide on how players can proceed to the maps with more powerful enemies. Maps in the Atlas of Worlds are divided according to tiers, from 1 to POE t16 maps. Of course, the goal is to move from one tier to another until the last, but players would have to complete maps in order to do so.

There are three kinds of completion:

• General Completion – killing the map boss
• Bonus Completion – killing the map boss with the map in the right Rarity in accordance to its tier
• Awakening Completion – killing the map boss in the right Rarity according to its tier while it’s influenced by watchstones

For bonus completion, this can be done by modifying the map of the proper tier using a Rarity-changing orb, which are as follows.:

• Tiers 1-5: Magic rarity.
• Tiers 6-10: Rare rarity.
• Tiers 11-16: Rare and Corrupted state.

It’s not easy to have Bonus completion on the Tier 11-16 maps, as the effects of the Vaal Orb are unpredictable. It can have no effect but will still corrupt the item, increase the tier by one and change its base type along with it, reroll it with random modifiers, or unidentify map but keep its affinity and modifiers, which will give it a bonus 30% quantity.
