Helldivers 2 has a fast-paced, chaotic environment where you don’t know what's happening. With all the explosions and blaster fire coming your way, it may be hard to fully protect yourself if you aren’t equipped for the occasion. Fortunately, you can choose from a wide selection of Helldivers 2 Armor Sets, each with perks and stats. This list will provide players with the best protection in the game.

How Are Helldivers 2 Classified?

Players can choose from three armor types from their armory and shops, but these classifications won’t always be visible. In the Warbonds, you are only given the set's name, stats, and passive perk. However, when you access your armor collection, your sets are classified between Light, Medium, and Heavy.

While not explicitly categorized in Warbonds, you can differentiate what armor type the sets belong to depending on their available stats. Body Armor possesses three base attributes that differ depending on their category. Light will have a lower Armor Rating but higher Speed and Stamina Regeneration. Medium types will have balanced stats, which would be 100-500-100. Heavy will have a higher Armor Rating but less Speed and Stamina Regen.

List of the Best Helldivers 2 Armor Sets

Light Armor

CE-74 Breaker

  • Cost: 250 SC
  • Armor Rating: 56
  • Speed: 544
  • Stamina Regeneration: 122
  • Passive: Reduce weapon recoil by 30% while crouched or prone and gain additional inventory on drop with two grenade slots

CE-74 Breaker provides ideal combat-oriented armor for gamers. While being stationary might sound like a bad idea, the passive provides additional offensive power that can significantly help players. Light Armor users can easily reposition themselves due to their high speed, which allows them to find a safer spot to crouch or prone.

SC-30 Trailblazer Scout

  • Cost: 50 Medals
  • Armor Rating: 56
  • Speed: 544
  • Stamina Regeneration: 122
  • Passive: Generate a radar scan every two seconds that shows mini-map markers. Enemy detection is reduced by 30%.

With high traversal speed, Light users can quickly go to points of interest to get additional loot. SC-30 Trailblazer Scout pings the location of secondary objectives, Super Credits, and support weapons, which helps the team gain more rewards in their excursions. While this armor doesn’t provide any offensive or defensive capabilities, its ability to spot objectives makes it handy.

Medium Armor

DP-11 Champion of the People

  • Cost: 100 Medals
  • Armor Rating: 100
  • Speed: 500
  • Stamina Regeneration: 100
  • Passive: Gain a 50% chance of not dying from lethal damage and prevent bleeding damage when attacks cause chest hemorrhages.

The Champion of the People gives Medium users another layer of protection during tight situations. Medium armor doesn’t have better protection nor extra movement speed that Heavy and Light users enjoy, so having a chance to survive lethal damage gives this set a higher rating in many situations.

SA-12 Servo Assisted

  • Cost: 45 Medals
  • Armor Rating: 100
  • Speed: 500
  • Stamina Regeneration: 100
  • Passive: Gain an extra 50 percent limb HP and 30% increase in throwing range

The SA-12 is another set that gives Medium users an additional advantage over other types. The extra 50% HP per limb prevents players from losing a limb during Bug Breaches or Bot Drops. Meanwhile, the 30% increase in throwing range allows you to hurl grenades from a safer distance. Essentially, this armor provides players a balanced offensive and defensive perk, which fits Medium sets very well.

CE-Trench Engineer

  • Cost: 10 Medals
  • Armor Rating: 100
  • Speed: 500
  • Stamina Regeneration: 100
  • Passive: Reduce weapon recoil by 30% while crouched or prone and gain additional inventory on drop with two grenade slots

Medium sets are better suited for combat than light while also retaining a degree of maneuverability. While you are more likely to get hit by attacks, you can still move quite well to allow yourself to reposition to a better spot to take advantage of the Tranch Engineer’s perks. At the same time, you are less likely to become critically injured while moving around.

CM-14 Physician

  • Cost: 70 Medals
  • Armor Rating: 100
  • Speed: 500
  • Stamina Regeneration: 100
  • Passive: Gain additional two-stim capacity slots with an increased effect duration of two seconds.

While most players consider using armor with offensive capabilities, some might want to use one that offers defensive advantages for their team. The Physician set allows you to bring two additional stim packs, which is helpful in many ways. Helldivers 2’s combat landscape can change from slow and peaceful to outright chaotic. The unpredictability of the battlefield means many instances where teammates might find themselves on the brink of death. With the CM-14 Physician, you can bring them back to their total health and allow them to fight longer.

Heavy Armor

SA-32 Dynamo

  • Cost: 64 Medals
  • Armor Rating: 143
  • Speed: 457
  • Stamina Regeneration: 57
  • Passive: Gain an extra 50 percent limb HP and 30% increase in throwing range

There aren’t many perks to using Heavy Armor since you are like a walking target to most enemies. This is why the only set we recommend players to use is the SA-32 Dynamo. It provides an additional layer of defense by gaining 50% limb HP. Since you are already tanking more damage, ensuring enough durability to survive the onslaught is always a good thing.

Are There Any Special Helmets and Capes

Unfortunately, the stats and perks of these two pieces of equipment are constant. Though there are different helmets and capes in Helldivers 2, they are purely for cosmetic purposes and do not provide additional advantages or perks. Your choice of these sets depends on which would look better with your chosen armor.

Will There Be More Armor in the Future?

As of now, these sets are the best available to players. However, more armor pieces will come in future updates so that this list will change later. These are the best sets that players should consider using for better chances of surviving.
