Escape from Tarkov is more than just going into incursions, shooting down other Scavengers, and getting valuable loot. Quests also exist in the game, which are offered by various NPCs. Doing these tasks immediately after every wipe can give players a significant advantage since they reward different and (usually) essential items. While every mission is essential, knowing which EfT quests to do first can help gamers progress more efficiently. This Escape from Tarkov quest guide - updated for the latest wipe in 2022, should help you do just that.

Why Should You Do Quests in Escape from Tarkov?

While many players tend to jump into incursions to start looting, others prefer to focus on completing their tasks right away. The main reason for doing so is that quests allow players to reach higher trader levels faster, which gives them access to more armor, guns, and ammo. This situation offers gamers an advantage over people still stuck on lower-level gear.

Which Escape from Tarkov Quest to Do First?

Which to Do First

The key to progressing smoothly with these quests is to do them to help them clear the next task faster. Focusing on one NPC at a time might be too hard since each task will become increasingly difficult. The main trick is to do the initial quests per Trader first to gain access to some items to better prepare players for more challenging missions. Here is the optimized order of doing these missions:

  • Introduction – Unlocks Jaeger
  • Debut – Unlocks Kalashnikov AKS-74U 5.45x39 Assault Rifle
  • Shortage
  • Checking
  • Acquaintance
  • Delivery from the Past – Unlocks 5.45x39mm PS gs
  • Both Operation Aquarius – Unlocks Army Bandage
  • Supplier – Unlocks Saiga-9 9x19 carbine
  • The Survivalist Path – Thrifty
  • Search Mission
  • Shootout Picnic
  • The Survivalist Path – Unprotected but Dangerous
  • Both Sanitary Standards – Unlocks Car First Aid Kit
  • Painkiller
  • BP Depot
  • The Extortionist
  • What's on the Flash Drive?
  • Bad Rep Evidence – Unlocks BelOMO PSO-1M2-1 4x24 scope
  • Golden Swag – Unlocks VOMZ Pilad P1x42 Weaver reflex sight
  • Chemical – Part 1
  • Polikhim Hobo
  • 1-3 Gunsmith
  • Farming - Part 1
  • Signal – Part 1
  • Friend from the West – Part 1

This sequence optimizes players to level up their accounts to up Level 12. In addition, the order of these tasks balances out the gamers' reputation with the Traders. After these quests, raiders can choose which quests they should go to depending on their needs and wants. However, there are specific tasks that players should not forget to do.

Best Quests to Complete per NPC in EFT

There are over 200 missions available in EFT, so players must know which quests they should prioritize. Some tasks are more advantageous to complete due to the rewards and utility items they provide. Here are the ones that gamers should actively seek out per Trader:

  • The Punisher – Part 4 to 6 (Prapor) - This questline is one of the hardest in the game due to the number of frags and dog tags needed. However, these tasks provide a massive advantage to raiders since they unlock the powerful 5.45x39 mm BT and reward the Epsilon container.
  • Perfect Mediator (Prapor) - This mission is something players can only do once they are beyond level 35. However, the rewards provided are some of the best since they contain a high-value T H I C C weapon case, which gamers can achieve after reaching LL4 with all NPCs.
  • Health Care Privacy – Part 5 (Therapist) - Storage is essential in Tarkov due to the number of loot players can acquire in the game. This specific task rewards players with a Medcase, which improves the players' storage options.
  • Private Clinic (Therapist) - Another mission that rewards the T H I C C item case. While this quest can be costly to do, the rewards are certainly worth the risk and effort.
  • The Cult – Part 1 (Peacekeeper) - This task is acceptable at level 12 and will unlock the M856A1 ammo type upon completion. This bullet can significantly increase the firepower of players in their raids.
  • Spa Tour – Part 6 (Peacekeeper) - Gamers might find this task a bit time-consuming since gamers need to farm US Dollars. However, the payout is excellent since it enables players to buy 7.62x51 mm M62 rounds.
  • Gunsmith – Part 11 (Mechanic) - It can be complicated to reach this stage of the questline. The main reason raiders should seek out this quest is because it rewards the 2nd-part key to the KIBA Outlet grate door. The KIBA on Interchange contains tons of attachments for players to loot.
  • The Blood War – Part 1 (Ragman) - While this quest does not provide that much reward, players should still do it since it unlocks the ability to receive free fuel from crafting other quest items.
  • Huntsman Path – Eraser – Part 1 (Jaeger) - This task can be challenging to complete since players need to take down Glukhar. However, the mission awards raiders with a weapon case, which is something gamers would definitely want.

Focus on the Important Quests

Due to the sheer number of available quests and the difficulty of Tarkov's gameplay, players are not expected to accomplish each. Though there are merits in doing them, gamers should focus on those that can contribute significantly to their progression. These tasks can reward storage, guns, ammo, or even unlock certain items from Traders. Knowing which ones to go for will help raiders make the most of their game time.
