Leveling a profession has more benefits than crafting endgame gear and consumables, since you can gain bonuses that enhance your combat stats. These can either be gear affixes that can permanently increase your stats or permanent talents that affect your character. We will be listing every single profession bonus available for Cataclysm Classic.

Crafting Profession Bonuses
Starting with the crafters, their bonuses function as gear affixes that are exclusive to that profession or tangible items that can provide passive buffs. For example, Jewelcrafters slot stat-boosting gems on armor, while Alchemists create their own consumables that provide buffs.
Alchemy⚗️
Not only do you gain the benefit of different stat buffing flasks, but you can also create your own Alchemist Stone that functions like a Trinket, providing a considerable boost in stats.

- Agility, Critical Strike
- Increases the effectiveness of healing and mana potions by 40%. This effect does not stack.
- Vibrant Alchemist Stone
- Intellect, Haste,
- Increases the effectiveness of healing and mana potions r by 40%. This effect does not stack.
- Volatile Alchemist Stone
- Strength, Mastery
- Increases the effectiveness of healing and mana potions by 40%. This effect does not stack.
- Mixology
- Elixir and flask effects are enhanced and have increased duration
- Flask of Enhancement
- + 80 Strength, Agility, or Intellect for 2 hours.
These Alchemist Stones are great alternatives for your Trinket slot in case you don’t have the BiS gear, but these may be eventually phased out.
Blacksmithing⚔️
- Socket Bracer
- Create two gem slots for your bracers
- Socket Gloves
- Create two gem slots for your gloves
While this may seem underwhelming, socketing gear allows you to add any gem of your choosing, with the best ones offering 100 of a chosen stat point in total, which can be a considerable boost in power. If desired, you can even mix two +50 stat gems into your gear if you require more stat points.
Enchanting🔮
- Enchant Ring: 40 Strength
- Enchant Ring: 40 Agility
- Enchant Ring: 40 Intellect
- Enchant Ring: 60 Greater Stamina
The bonuses listed above are the maximum level bonuses for the enchanting profession. Not listed above are the many other enchantments that provide powerful stat bumps for helmets, chests, cloaks, boots, bracers, weapons, and shields. Enchantments can be placed on socketed gear.
Engineering⚙️
Engineering gadgets function like spells that can be slotted on gear, meaning that anyone can use these regardless of class and specialization.
- Synapse Springs
- Permanently attach synapse springs to your gloves. Activate to gain +480 to your highest primary stat for 10 seconds. Has a 60 second cooldown.
- Grounded Plasma Shield
- Permanently attach grounded plasma generators to your belt, allowing you to absorb 16200 to 19800 damage. Has a 5 minute cooldown
- Quickflip Deflection Plates
- Permanently attach quickflip deflection plates onto gloves, which increases your armor by 1500 for 12 sec. Has a 60 second cooldown
- Tazik Shocker
- Permanently attach a tazik shocker to your gloves that, when activated, deals 4320 to 5280 Nature damage to an enemy at long range. Has a 2 minute cooldown
- Z50 Mana Gulper
- Permanently attach a specialized grip to your gloves, allowing you to immediately drink a Mythical Mana Potion for increased effect.
- Spinal Healing Injector
- Permanently attach a specialized injector kit to your gloves, allowing you to immediately consume a Mythical Healing Potion for increased effect.
- Loot-A-Rang
- Automatically retrieves faraway loot.
Inscription📜
Much like Enchanting, the Inscription profession uses Glyphs that can be inscribed exclusively on shoulder armor. Before Cataclysm, Glyphs used to be a consumable item.
- Lionsmane Inscription
- Permanently add 130 Strength and 35 critical strike to your shoulder armor.
- Inscription of the Earth Prince
- Permanently adds 195 Stamina and 25 dodge rate to your shoulder armor.
- Felfire Inscription
- Permanently add 130 Intellect and 25 haste to your shoulder armor.
- Swiftsteel Inscription
- Permanently adds 130 Agility and 25 Mastery to your shoulder armor.
Jewelcrafting💎
Jewelcrafting has plenty of flexibility when it comes to choosing a stat to increase, with the only limitation being your gear’s socket colors.

Draconic Embossments override any enchantments made on bracer gear.
Tailoring✂️
This profession only uses materials that are dropped by enemies, not counting hides and animal skins, making this profession difficult to level since it has no raw materials that can be farmed through gathering.
- Lightweave Embroidery
- Embroiders a pattern of light into your cloak that provides a chance to increase your Intellect by 580 for 15 seconds when casting a spell.
- Darkglow Embroidery
- Embroiders a magical pattern into your cloak that provides a chance to increase your Spirit by 580 for 15 seconds when you cast a spell.
- Swordguard Embroidery
- Embroiders a magical pattern into your cloak which can cause damaging melee and ranged attacks that provides a chance to increase your attack power by 1000 for 15 seconds.
Cooking🔥
This profession will always be valuable for the simple fact that you can’t have your cake and eat it too. Players will always require food buffs to stay competitive in raids, making Feasts an important aspect to raiding.
- Seafood Magnifique Feast
- Restores 96000 health and 96000 mana over 30 seconds. Anyone who partakes in the feast for 10 seconds will become well-fed and gain 90 Stamina and 90 in a primary stat for 1 hour.
Gathering Profession Bonuses
The bonuses provided by these professions are permanent stat increases to your character after reaching their maximum level. These bonuses are far easier to obtain since the act of gathering will provide you with points for that profession.
Herbalism🌿
- Lifeblood
- Use your skill in Herbalism to absorb energy and nutrients from the earth, instantly healing 720 health and granting 480 haste rating for 20 seconds. Can be used while stealthed or invisible.
Mining🏗️
- Toughness
- After enough hard work and breaking enough rocks and stones, your stamina increases by 120.
Skinning🦁
- Master of Anatomy
- Skinning plenty of dead beasts has given you a deeper understanding of the weak points of living beings, increasing your critical strike by 80.
Secondary Professions
Archaeology🏺
While this profession has no bonuses, it does give you access to some of the rarest items in Cataclysm Classic, like the Vial of the Sands, Fossilized Raptor, and Zin'rokh, Destroyer of Worlds.
